   Certainly in the media I detect that ID is largely ridiculed not for its science, but because it is associated with “religious idiots like Bush and those who voted for him”. There is only one idiot here, his name begins with a “D”, and it aint Dubya.

   ess amongst evolutionists which makes them aggressively intolerant of other lines of thought – it’s an aggression born of the many gaps in the theory. For example, can it really explain how we get from some sort of worm-like amphibious creature climbing out of the primordial swamp to, say, Scarlett Johansson? Even over millions of years of evolution that seems like an unbridgeable gap.

   The evidence for pervasive, public, and boistrously healthy secularism in the United States is at least as strong as the evidence for evolution in the Upper Devonian or whenever. Furthermore, it’s happening right now, and you can watch it in action instead of reconstructing it retrospectively.
   It takes major ideological blinders to deny either one. What a shame some parts of English society have allowed themselves to drift into a state where anti-American mania has become the respectable norm.
   Dawkins’ image of American life is a deranged fantasy. He’s an idiot.
