Fully Gratified

Obituaries, even in the Times, aren’t what they used to be:

Pole liked to recall with pride that he was the only one of her countless lovers — among them Henry Miller, Lawrence Durrell, Edmund Wilson and her own psychoanalyst — who had fully gratified Nin the first time she had slept with them.

Just the kind of tidbit one likes to know about the recently departed.

Among them her own psychoanalyst though. How very 20th Century.

“co-husband” is a nice touch. But must we have “she maintained four lovers contemporaneously” – what’s wrong with ‘simultaneously’?
