An intriguing story from the Times:
Christchurch, one of Oxford’s most eminent educational establishments, is considering installing vomit points.
Buckets and sand will be available to students who feel compelled to bring up their good night out.
The move comes after the introduction of penalty charges for wantonly throwing up. Judith Pallot, the college censor, has decreed that there has been an “unacceptable amount of vomit”.
A good idea, but, alas, the discipline and clear-headedness required may be lacking in the circumstances. “Excuse me, I wonder if you could direct me to the nearest vomit point.” If only we were as civilised as the Germans.
