Professor David Nutt, a leading government drugs adviser who sits on the committee, told the IoS that anti-drug vaccines for children are likely to be among the panel’s recommendations when it reports next March.
David Nutt – perfect.
How stupid.
You do not passively contract hard drugs like measles, you choose to use them. Therefore the risk benefit for administering such a vaccine can only be demonstrated if you have a clear idea that your child will be a drug user.
It’s like ‘A Clockwork Orange’ …
Of course, this idea ignores everything we already know, and are learning, about the psychological bases for addictions. There is relatively little evidence that the ‘high’ alone represents the major part of any decision to use, whether it be class A drugs of the various types, cigarettes/tobacco, alcohol, and the various kinds of non-drug addiction.
But the bigger question is, just what do they think they are going to inject these children with? No such single vaccine exists. So what is it going to be?
