A council meeting in Newham, East London was suspended after Jewish councillor Joshua Garfield was hissed at by attendees in the public gallery.

Tory backbencher Andrew Percy said that as a Jewish MP, he had felt safer on a recent visit to Israel than he did on returning to Britain. In the past, he has had to take out restraining orders against individuals who had abused and threatened him in his constituency. “One woman called me ‘f***ing Israeli scum’, hit my arm, then said now she would have to wash herself because she had touched me,” he said.
Since October 7, Percy said, he has faced a continuing torrent of abuse. One message he showed the JC told him to “leave my country, pack your bags, go to Israel, I hope your kids suffer the same fate u wish on others”. Another told him “put on the uniform of the IDF and f*** off to Israel.” He had also received messages that denied the Holocaust, asserted that “no one cares about the Jews” and called him a “Zionist c***” and a “lying fascist bigot” who should “tramped in the gutter” and “burn in hell”.
Percy told the JC: “I’ve given up forwarding most of them to the police because there’s nothing they can do.”
He has been given enhanced security but remains fearful that “something really bad is going to happen – to a politician or the Jewish community. I worry that something is going to blow”. Percy blamed the police for failing to take decisive action against hate speech when the protest marches began after October 7, which had seemed to legitimise them.
It's clearly vital for these people to deny any Jewish connection with the land of Israel.

The incident began at around 4 a.m., when some 30 trucks carrying humanitarian aid arrived at the coast of Gaza City, to deliver food to Palestinians in the Rimal neighborhood.
Thousands of Palestinians rushed the trucks after they passed an IDF checkpoint in central Gaza, leading to a stampede in which dozens of Palestinians were killed and hundreds wounded, some after being run over by the trucks, according to the probe.
The IDF’s initial investigation found that some of the trucks managed to continue further north, where armed men reportedly opened fire at the convoy near Rimal and looted it.
Dozens of Palestinians who rushed the last truck in the convoy, further south, began to move toward an IDF tank and troops stationed at the military’s checkpoint, the investigation found.
An officer stationed in the area ordered soldiers to fire warning shots in the air as the Palestinians were within a few dozen meters, as well as gunfire at the legs of those who continued to move toward the troops, the probe said.
The IDF said that fewer than 10 of the casualties were a result of Israeli fire.
The IDF has coordinated several aid deliveries to northern Gaza in recent weeks, although this one was larger than usual. It said it would now look for a solution to prevent such incidents from happening again and was conducting probes into the incident.
The story has now largely disappeared from the headlines, as the less exciting truth has dampened the initial barely-disguised glee at this further Israeli outrage.
Who do you believe, then? An Islamist group that makes no secret of its strategy to kill as many Jews as possible and to destroy Israel with extreme violence, and which welcomes the death of as many Gaza civilians as possible to provoke a world-wide backlash against the Jewish state…or the IDF? For most major news outlets here the answer's clear enough. The Hamas version is given priority as the default truth, while further down there may be some brief mention of a different IDF story.
It's a strange war where the "attackers" do their best to minimise civilian casualties, while the "defenders" want to see as many dead as possible.

A gym has frozen the membership of a Jewish woman who drew a Star of David on a steamed up glass door in a changing room shower, the JC can reveal.
The gym, run by Nuffield Health, accused the woman of “offending” other members with the Jewish symbol.
Sharon, a 47-year-old British-Israeli, has been going to Nuffield Health in Willesden for ten years and was showering after a class when she drew the star in the mist with her finger.
“I drew it while I was taking a shower, I just felt like it,” Sharon told the JC.
Another gym-goer apparently saw the temporary Star of David on the shower glass and made a complaint about it….
In their email to her, the gym said that the Star of David had been drawn “with the intention of causing offence”.
“How can a Star of David offend anyone?” Sharon told the JC, “It’s not a danger to anyone and I’m not a danger.”
The British-Israeli who has reported the incident to the police, is seeking legal advice.
"I want to tell them, you’re not the Gestapo, you’re a health club,” she said. “It’s like a fascist society,” she added….

Scarlet Blake, 26, who was born male but identifies as a woman, was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 24 years in prison on Monday for the murder of Jorge Martin Carreno in Oxford, having previously mutilated a cat.

Blake has been sent to a male prison, but was referred to as a woman during the trial.

Thames Valley Police has now confirmed to The Telegraph that Blake’s crimes have been officially recorded as committed by a woman.
A spokesman for the force said: “We are required to record the gender of individuals when they are brought into our custody.
“Blake identified as a female when in custody. As such, Blake is recorded as female on our crime recording system.”
The Ministry of Justice confirmed that the gender logged by the police would be mirrored in official crime and conviction statistics held by the courts and all other parts of the justice system. The department declined to comment.

Jeremy O Harris, the writer of Slave Play, said this week the production was “one of the rare plays by a black author that has made its way to the West End … I hope that with this production even more work by writers of colour will find support on our largest commercial stages”….
Slave Play, which received 12 Tony nominations in the United States, revolves around three interracial couples role-playing while on a plantation.
Harris told the BBC this week that he was “excited” to be introducing the concept of Black Out performances to the West End. “In most places in the West, poor people and black people have been told that they do not belong inside the theatre,” he said.

It reminds me of the recent fuss over the "racist" countryside. Blacks have apparently been told that they do not belong there either. No one's suggested that for a few days white people shouldn't be allowed out of the towns and cities, to allow black people to escape the disapproving white gaze as they hit those counntry walks and coastal paths. Give it time, though.
