I’m so depressed I’m thinking of emigrating.
I can live with it.
How could all those sensible democrats have been whupped by a dumb monkey?
Either:-
1) The Americans who voted for him are even lower down the evolutionary tree
2) The American people are not so dumb and GWB is not a monkey
My guess is that our betters at the BBC, GU and Indy will plump for 1, in particular because it involves the word “evolution”, something which those dumb Americans of the Christian HARD RIGHT don’t believe in (snigger).
Those of us in the real world might consider that there is a grain of truth in 2.
An early exit poll suggests the Lib Dems also strongly going for option 1:-
Lib Dem MP Sarah Gidley writes “I find it totally incomprehensible that a thinking public should re-elect him at all”. Still, Sarah, you know all about not being in power, don’t you?
