Yeah, so they whipped up some crudely-hewn abstract gods, not the least of them being something called “reason”, which turned out not to be what it says on the box at all.
What a comfort, to wake up one morning and find the Church replaced by the Committee for Public Safety. Doesn’t that have a nice, enlightened, rational sound to it? Not anthropomorphic in the least! I guess we can trust it, then.
