ere ethnically cleansed by Armenian militia?
No Turk is interviewed!

What about the survivors of 1970’s ASALA Armenian terrorism across America and Europe?

No talk about that either.

THIS MEANS Like other Armenian Diasporic Nationalist propaganda this book is false. DO NOT WASTE YOUR time and energy and sympathy for a fascistic discourse, that keeps on with the business of nationalism saying that there was an Armeninan “genocide”.

Does the man approve of anything? Well yes, a couple of books get five-star reviews:

“Complementary Cardiovascular Medicine: Clinical Handbook“, by Richard A. Stein (Editor), Mehmet Oz (Editor)

Wonderul Turkish Doctor

Dr. Oz wondergul doctor

and “YOU: The Owner’s Manual : An Insider’s Guide to the Body that Will Make You Healthier and Younger“, by Michael F. Roizen, Mehmet Oz

Wonderful Turk Does it Again

I thank the Turkish society and government for having contributed to such a wonderful mind. Wonder Doctor Mehmet Oz once again publishes a book and gets to be the bestseller, with a bit of publicity from Oprah’s show.
An excellent healthy diet plan!
Excellent information on general staying healthy.
Book Addresses all of body’s needs.

Thank you Turkish people and Turkey.

I wonder if Richard Mitchell genuinely is his name. Maybe his real name’s something like, oh, I don’t know, some Turkish name….Mehmet something-or-other perhaps….

Not every nutjob into Armenian Holocaust denial is necessarily a Turk. If you want to visit the dark side of the Web, google “Samuel Weems” (I don’t intend to dignify any of that stuff with a direct link). Weems was the all American author of that classic of impeccable historical method, “Armenia: Secrets of a ‘Christian’ Terrorist State”. He must have been unbiased because he tells us so: “I don’t have a drop of Near Eastern blood in my veins. I am a life long Baptist, and have spent four years researching and writing a book titled Armenia–Secrets of A “Christian” Terrorist State.” Unfortunately, for some reason he neglected to mention that his wife was Turkish, that he was an Arkansas lawyer who had been disbarred for fraudulent behaviour (mixing his clients’ money with his own) and that his publisher, the respectably titled “St. John’s Press”, only appears to offer books by one Samuel A. Weems. When he died in January 2003, Weems received obituaries in the Turkish press praising him for his sterling historical work, which just proves how desperate Ankara’s propaganda machine must be if it needs to employ the services of this real-life equivalent of The Simpsons’ Lionel Hutz.

So you’re saying this guy is full of crap?
I don’t know much about it one way or the other so my question is why did Lewis write somewhat critically of it?
I know supposedly Hitler got the idea for it from the Turks… at least according to the Historical movies.
    Interested in your reply.

Certainly I think Dr Oz (it seems a fair assumption that he’s “Richard Mitchell”) is full of crap. I don’t believe for a moment that he’s read any of these books, and his review is a semi-literate rant.
Sorry, I didn’t know that Lewis (Bernard Lewis?) had written “somewhat critically” on this subject. The historical evidence is really not in doubt.

Interesting stuff: thanks for that. For what it’s worth, I’m entirely unpersuaded by Guenter Lewy’s apologetics, am extremely dubious about the list of supposed Armenian atrocities produced by the last commenter at “A Tiny Revolution”, and think that Lewis’s part in the whole affair reflects very poorly on him.

Mike’s sources sound like the typical Turkish response to the allegations of genocide: “Nothing happened but they were asking for it”.
You’re better off reading the first post you link to rather than the dodgy, vaguely sourced “statistics” in the comments. Especially this bit:
“The historian Gerard Chaliand wrote to Lewis to express his dismay that Lewis had signed the letter. Lewis’ main concern came through clearly in his reply. And guess what? It wasn’t historical accuracy. “The only sure result of the resolution,” Lewis wrote to Chaliand, “would be the disruption of US-Turkish relations.””
This is backed up by what I’ve read in Yves Ternon’s book “Les Arméniens: Histoire d’un génocide” (1996 edition, pp. 350-355).
Basically, most Western attempts to deny or minimise the Armenian Holocaust are “consequentialist” in nature. In other words it’s just not convenient to admit the truth because -as Lewis implies above- it would harm our foreign policy if Ankara got the sulks. In a similar way, during World War Two the Western Allies went along with the charade of blaming the Katyn Forest Massacre on the Nazis, rather the true perpetrators the Soviets, for fear of offending Stalin. You’ve also got to remember that the Turkish government puts a lot of money into Oriental Studies Departments in Western universities and it could make life very difficult for a scholar who doesn’t toe the line to do research or further their career.

    SHALOM!
I’m so sick of Armenian propaganda even in this SIMPLE blog!!! There is no any single proof about your so-called armenian genocide and claiming for nothing. recognizing does not changes anything!
Anyhow you armenians edited zillions of pictures (includes ataturks pics) like replacing Turk-caressing-a-dog to Turk-taking-organs-of-death-armenian-child!..
All you do are as same as Hitler did. All are god damn fake!
Stop provocating people with your lie! Hitler did not involve from Turks! Turks saved millions of Jewish life and prevented against fascism.
My grandparents are survivors of Greece; Greeks delivered’em to Nazi camps but Turkish diplomats saved back.
The real genocide happened to the millions of Jewish lives, not to Armenians!
    Enough is Enough!!!

The Armenian “ethnic cleansing” if you don’t like the word “genocide” is a historical fact. No less than the American ambassador during WWI wrote in his diaries the horrendous rapes of young girls, women and the carving of men in the “caravans” (much resembling the Hitlerian extermination of their over 7 million Jewish victims) escaping the Ottoman barbarians. You can only learn by understanding History and trying to prevent it from happening. In 1939, the Nazis and their propaganda (like the current Turkish one) managed to persuade their people that exterminating a race was to their nation’s benefit.
Armenians suffered a fate similar to their Turkish-Greeks in 1922 who were slaughtered en masse trying to escape. Armenians and Greeks living in Turkey were the earlier “Jews” living under equally barbarous “Nazis”… For the genocide apologists, read:
U.S. Ambassador (1913-1916) Henry Morgenthau’s memoirs give you the REAL story of what happened. He was imploring his Washington bosses to help the TWO MILLION ARMENIANS deported and sent to the desert to be raped and horrendously dismembered.
No, History can’t lie. The Nazis couldn’t hide their genocide–any more than the Turks can hidetheir Armenian genocide! Only God can forgive their monstrosities and barbarian acts on a race whose only crime was that they prospered!

THE NAZIS learned well from their Turkish “Masters of Genocide”. Murdering 1.5 million Armenians and subjecting them to terrible torture and deport them from their homes while maiming them in the desert. You call Turks civilized? But the Armenians have a voice and they will not be snuffed out by propaganda.
They should open up an Armenian Genocide Museum in Washington and young Turks could be welcomed to see their past and prevent it from happening agai
